Libraries are all about books, right? Well, yes and no. Definitely not just about the paper books sitting on the shelves.

Don’t forget that as a University of Winchester student you have access to more than 20 thousand e-books and countless e-journals and electronic articles. So if that elusive book you’ve been trying to take out for the crucial assignment is out on loan, don’t despair! Instead, try searching for books that you can access without even setting foot out of the door. Books that you can read in bed, in PJs if that’s what works best for you. Here’s how they work.

Most titles can be found on our online catalogue. Remember to always log into Intranet first. Then you can search for specific titles or enter keywords into search box.

Now in the left-hand column you will find the option to filter your results depending on the format. You can narrow your results to electronic resources (books, journals and articles available online) or select just e-books.

But that’s not the only way of finding the resources you need. You can also go the Library page and select ‘Electronic books’ from the left-hand column. Now you can look at all our databases and search directly within each of them.

And remember, if you need help, you can always come to the desk on the top floor, e-mail us at libenquiries@Winchester.ac.uk or contact your subject Librarian.
